Pitch a Project for L-Town Soup!

Do you have an idea that will benefit Park County? Click the link below and fill out a short application to pitch your project at the April 29th, 2026 L-Town Soup! Fill out the short application by 9:00am March 30th.

Groups are encouraged to pitch projects that highlight ideas as far ranging as art installations, urban agriculture, social entrepreneurship, environmental stewardship, climate change and more. Ten applications will be selected to pitch their project to the audience for funding.

Project Guidelines:

  • Project must be located in Park County

  • Project must benefit Park County communities and/or surrounding environment

  • Applicants must explain who/what will benefit from the project in the application

  • Funds raised must be spent in Park County with local businesses as much as possible

  • Projects are more likely to be funded over programs

Applicants will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Project impacts benefit the local community and/or environment

  • Project funds can be spent within a year

  • Project activities can be completed within a year

  • Preference will be given to the first 10 applications received

What to expect on the day:

If your application is selected, you and your team will have up to five minutes to deliver a presentation pitch without the use of digital technology (e.g., digital music, or a powerpoint slideshow). You are allowed to use photos, diagrams, poster boards, hand outs, live performances, or any other materials. Creativity is encouraged!

On the day, you will be allocated a table in the “project gallery,” to display your materials. Before and after the pitches, audience members will have the opportunity to visit your table, view your project materials and ask questions. Opportunities to raise additional funds, such as through a VENMO code and/or tip jar can be part of your table design. Tables will be open to set up from 4:00pm on the day.

The audience will vote on their favorite projects following all presentations. Each audience member is required to vote for their top three projects. The “winning project” receives funds raised from the soup sales and additional donations, which is matched by our community partner AMB West Community Fund!

Additional ways to raise funds such as setting up a VENMO QR code and crafting a tip jar are encouraged. We can help you with some ideas.

*Note: Only funds donated through the website and PCEC’s VENMO will be matched. Direct funds raised independently (like through a cash tip jar) will not be considered for a match.

PROJECT WINNERS

1st Place is guaranteed - $1,000

If more than $1,000 is raised, a 2nd and 3rd place will be unlocked. If more funds are raised above and beyond our goal of $5,000, additional 4th, 5th, 6th and so forth will be unlocked!

If you won a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in the previous year, you will be asked to not pitch again the following year. In order to give back to this program, we request that you help us pay it forward by helping to volunteer or support applicants the following year.

Reporting

L-Town Soup winners have one year to implement their proposed project, or idea, and a requirement of winning and accepting L-Town Soup funding is to give a quick summary of successes and hurdles encountered at the following year’s event. This facilitates not only a way to measure outcomes, but informs all potential future participants about the obstacles they may face, and the well deserved recognition for their achievement.

This is a community collaboration and funded event, the more our community pitches in, the more projects get funded. Make sure to get your friends and family involved - share the PURCHASE A TICKET link - the more people eat soup, purchase tickets and donate, the more your project will raise!

More about Soup

L-Town Soup celebrates and supports innovative community led projects across Park County. Under PCEC’s Thriving Communities program, this initiative educates, engages, and empowers residents by fostering creativity, collaboration, and philanthropy.

Anyone can apply for funding as part of L-Town Soup. It is the simplicity and inviting nature of this platform that makes it unique. Any individual or group with an idea can develop a concept, pitch it at the event and receive the recognition and support.

It is a democratic process, wherein the community votes for the projects that possesses the most merit. This allows any group, regardless of background, gender or ethnicity to apply and participate. The requirement that no technology can be used in the presentation opens the field to any income or age level.
