Did you know that Livingston is an official Bee City? Are you curious what that means?

Next week, we’re hosting a fun, educational community conversation where we’ll share interesting facts about the incredible bee and pollinator diversity native to Livingston and celebrate our city’s recent Bee City USA proclamation!

In addition, you’ll learn about some of the awesome work our community is doing to protect and promote these wild creatures, and what you can do to help them out in your own backyard.

Register here and mark your calendars for the virtual Community Conversation on Wednesday, April 10 at 12 p.m. for an informative conversation that will provide you helpful tips on how you can make your yard into a pollinator paradise.

Register here!

In this conversation, we will explore Livingston’s recent designation as an official Bee City USA affiliate (only the second Montana city to achieve this!).

To guide this conversation, we are happy to host:

  • Clay Bolt, Manager of Pollinator Conservation for World Wildlife Fund-US

  • Michelle Toshack, Montana Bumble Bee Atlas Program Lead for the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation

  • Farmer Megan Randall, Program Manager for Farm-to-School of Park County

At PCEC, we recognize that an educated and engaged community has the potential to contribute to greater resilience, improving the health and wellbeing of our urban ecosystem; increasing local beauty; improving soil health; attracting and enhancing pollinator populations; and providing habitat for a variety of invertebrates.

For more information on what it means for Livingston to be a Bee City USA, such as commitments, committee involvement, and social media resources, look here on the City’s website.

We hope you will join us to learn more about how a Bee City USA proclamation can best benefit our community now and in the future!
