Dear Federal Employees,

Thank you. For continuing to show up, no matter what. For showing up when you aren’t getting paid. For showing up amidst the cloud of threats that has pervaded the last nine months: government shutdowns, RIFs, probationary firings and insulting requests to justify your daily necessity. We see you, and we want to say thank you. 

You protect our public lands. When the wildfires rage, you choose courage over retreat. You work harder than anyone to understand the land and the animals and the plants and the water. They were here long before we were and they will be here long after we go. You provide education and safety to the millions of people who pass through this county to experience the natural wonder that we are lucky enough to call home. You toil away to make sure that future generations also get to experience this wild and special place.

Whether you work at a desk, or on the landscape, or with spreadsheets, or on the river - whatever you do, whatever role you play, we see you. And we thank you.
