We accomplished a lot in 2023. Consider supporting PCEC today!

It was a pleasure to see everyone at the chili dinner last night! We were thrilled to have more than 100 people show up and celebrate PCEC and our community. It was good to catch up with many of you and to meet new members. The chili went quickly. We’ll be sure to make more next year, or even expand the competition to our membership!

As we approach the end of the year, all of us at PCEC are reflecting on the incredible strides we've made together in 2023 towards a healthier, more sustainable future for our community.

As a valued supporter of PCEC, we want to share some of our proudest accomplishments from this year and invite you to be a part of our continued success.

We can’t do this work without your support. As you can see, we’ve accomplished a lot in 2023!

Conservation Leadership:

  • Youth Climate Summit: This year, we proudly supported the Park High Green Initiative and other partners to organize the youth climate summit.

  • Hays Fellowship: Partnering with the City, our Hays Fellowship worked diligently toward developing a Community Resilience Plan, reinforcing our commitment to effective conservation leadership.

  • AmeriCorps Volunteers: With the help of 12 dedicated AmeriCorps volunteers, we planted an impressive 100 trees in Livingston, contributing to the preservation of our local environment, and volunteered hundreds of hours toward other community efforts.

Healthy Landscapes:

  • Gravel Pit in Emigrant: We successfully fended off a potential gravel pit on Section 22 for now and are actively working on a plan to permanently protect this vital area.

  • Invasive Weeds Program: Our new invasive weeds program has engaged over 300 community members, and collaborated with 35 landowners and local businesses, creating a framework that is being implemented across the state.

  • Yellowstone Safe Passages: We’ve made significant progress on the wildlife passage project, in partnership with Yellowstone Safe Passages, to ensure the safe movement of wildlife in our area.

  • Wildlife: We successfully advocated for a reduced wolf hunting quota next to Yellowstone, while also fostering community support for Yellowstone National Park's bison management plan.

Thriving Communities:

  • Climate Disaster Workshop: PCEC organized a workshop with federal resilience experts and local emergency responders, laying the groundwork for our community to plan and prepare for future climate disasters.

  • Park County Housing Coalition: Team PCEC helped fund a full-time position for the Park County Housing Coalition, addressing critical needs within our community.

  • Downtown Master Plan: The Downtown Master Plan process is underway, serving as an essential tool to support a thriving downtown for years to come.

  • Bear-Proof Garbage Cans: Ensuring the safety of both residents and wildlife, bear-proof garbage cans have been implemented in the City of Livingston.

To further amplify the impact of your support, we are thrilled to announce that all gifts made before the end of the year, up to $50,000, will be matched! Our goal is to raise $100,000 by December 31st. So far, we’ve raised nearly $69,000!
